The Balkans

The Balkans is made up of several countries, including Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Kosovo, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Romania, and Serbia. Each of these countries has its own unique history and culture, and is home to a variety of ethnic groups and religions; one of the most interesting aspects of the Balkans is its mix of cultures. The region has been influenced by a number of different civilizations over the centuries, including the Roman Empire, the Ottoman Empire, and the Austro-Hungarian Empire. This has resulted in a melting pot of cultures, with each country in the Balkans having its own unique blend of influences.
